Ramogi Institute of Advanced Technology

Ramogi institute of Advanced Technology (RIAT) is known as a mother of all public Institutes of Technology in Kenya, having been the first to be established. It has since made steady strides towards fulfillment of its mission, which states that;

The idea is to produce responsive products as agents of change; it has in essence put in motion training with a difference by incorporating applied research, innovations and quality production as its adopted philosophical strategy.

RIAT founders wished to see closed gap between fundamental scientific knowledge and its application for the well being of man. They thus chose to be guided by the dictum. “Give a man fish, He will eat a meal. Teach him how to fish He will eat forever”.

Since its inception, RIAT has trained over 6,000 Kenyans in both having been identified for the training of refugees from Rwanda, Sudan, Ethiopia and Somalia. We have thus responded positively to the desires of the then founders that called for a good supply of man power with relevant technical skills which at times were not adequately available among the people of Kenya. There are currently teaching Departments offering certificate and Diploma Courses. It has a teaching force of 101 staff plus 20 non-teaching staff.

How to Apply

Hand written application letter stating course applied for, should be addressed to :

  • The Principal
  • Ramogi Institute of Advanced Technology
  • P.o.  Box 1738-40100
  • Kisumu

Applicants are required to attach photocopies of KCSE certificate, National I.D card and school leaving certificate and Application letters can be posted or hand delivered

Applicants will be required to come for registration upon receipt of “Offer for Admission” letter, containing registration details & dates.

Note:

Full-time classes are conducted between 8.00 am. and 4.00 pm

Part time classes may be arranged between 4.00 pm and 7.00 pm and weekends from 8.00 a.m. to 7.00pm where possible

  • 10 coloured passport size
  • 2 copies of relevant examination certificate (KNEC)
  • 2 copies of school leaving certificates
  • 2 copies of national ID /birth certificate
