1. Certificate in Kenya Enrolled Community Health Nursing

A certificate in Community Health Nursing is the lowest level you can start your career as a nurse. If your KCSE mean grade was a C minus, you can take this course considering you have met other requirements as shown below. It is a two and half years program and can be completed in most of the nursing colleges across the country.

2. Diploma Nursing Program

Diploma in Nursing is another course that can help you enter the Nursing profession. Since a diploma is higher than a certificate the required mean grade is C plain. This is an option for those who have higher aggregate grades in their KCSE. Currently, there are over 145 approved nursing colleges in Kenya.

Requirements to study Diploma Nursing 

KCSE mean grade of C (or equivalent) with relevant subject grouping such as English,

Kiswahili, Biology, Biological Sciences, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Physical Sciences.

Duration: 3 years excluding Community Health Nursing which lasts 3 ½ years.
