Application Timeline

The KUCCPS online application window is now open, and timing is critical.

Opening Date: April 7, 2026

Closing Date: May 6, 2026

Missing this window could mean waiting another full year, so early application is strongly advised.

Who Can Apply?

This application cycle targets a wide range of candidates:

2025 KCSE candidates and

Form Four leavers from previous years: (Candidates who sat KCSE between 2000 and 2025 (for TVET programmes)

Available Study Options

Students have multiple academic pathways depending on their performance:

Degree Programmes

Open to students who scored C+ and above

Admission into:

43 public universities

31 private universities

Reporting begins in September 2026

TVET Programmes

Open to students with grades from A to E

Includes:

Diplomas

Certificates

Artisan courses

Reporting starts as early as May 2026 (continuous intake)

Institutional Capacity

There is significant capacity across institutions to absorb applicants:

Degree slots: 322,396 (approved by Commission for University Education)

TVET capacity: 1,132,531 slots & 251 (including 33 university TVET institutes)

Teacher Training Colleges (TTCs): 2,480 slots

All programmes have been vetted and approved by relevant regulators such as the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority.

Key Requirements

Before applying, ensure you meet the minimum criteria:

Degree programmes: Minimum grade of C+ (plus)

TVET programmes: Any grade from A to E

Open University eligibility: C+ and above
