Maseno University

Maseno University founded in 1991, and lies along the equator. It is one of the public universities in Kenya . Maseno University is located in Maseno Township along Kisumu-Busia road, 25 km from Kisumu City and approximately 400 km west of Nairobi the capital city of Kenya. The University also shares its boundaries with Vihiga and Kisumu County.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
a) Applicants for admission into certificate programmes should meet the minimum general admission requirement of a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) Examination mean grade of D+ and above.
b) Applicants for admission into the diploma programmes should meet the minimum general admission requirement of either a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade of C (Plain) and above, or a Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education (KACE) 1 Principal and a Subsidiary. Those with D+ must have a certificate in a relevant field.
c) Applicants for admission into the degree programmes should meet the minimum general admission requirement of either a mean grade of C+ and above in Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) Examination, or 2 Principal passes and 1 Subsidiary in East African Advanced Certificate Examination/ Kenya Advanced Certificates of Education (EACE/ KACE), and other equivalent. Those with grade C plain must have a Diploma in a relevant field.
d) Applicants for admission into the Masters Degree Programme must be holders of at least an upper second class honours degree of a recognized institution of higher learning or its equivalent; or be a holder of at least a first degree (lower second), plus a diploma or its equivalent of any recognized University; or a holder of a lower second class honours degree, with at least three years’ experience in a relevant field, of any recognized University.
e) Applicants for admission into the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Degree Programme must be holders of a Masters degree in the relevant field of any recognized University; or be holders of other qualifications considered by Senate as equivalent to a Masters degree in the relevant field, of any recognized University.
