1. TERM 1 (6th January 2026 – 2nd April 2026 | 13 Weeks)

Overview
Kenya school term 1 2026 will be the second longest and most academically intensive term of the school year. It lays the foundation for learning, discipline, and performance for the rest of the year.

Term 1 school activities 

  • Revision of previous year’s work (especially for new classes and grade transitions)
  • Introduction of new syllabus content under CBC and secondary curriculum
  • Continuous assessments (CATs), assignments, and projects
  • Co-curricular activities resume (sports, clubs, music, drama)
  • Parent–teacher engagement meetings in many schools
