KNEC-Kenya National Examination Council. KNEC is a very vital body in Kenya. Since its establishment in 1980, KNEC has been conducting examinations in Kenya at primary, secondary and college level. In addition of conducting exams, KNEC also issues certificates for the exams they administer.

KNEC invigilators and supervisor
As KNEC administers exam every year they need assistance of professional to manage the whole process. Through Teacher Service Commission, KNEC recruits its invigilators and supervisor both at the primary and secondary level. The number of KNEC invigilators and supervisor depends on the number of candidates seating for the exams. Teachers from private schools should be registered with TSC so as to qualify to be selected.
Payment of KNEC invigilators and supervisor
KNEC invigilators and supervisor are paid once the whole process is through and their details are verified. The actual payment is mostly expected in the first months in the following year in which the exams were done.
Payment of KNEC Examiners
KNEC will refund expenses incurred by examiners as they present them in the marking center below are some of the expenses to be refunded
- a) Coordination fee and basic fee allowance per day;
- b) Travel expense or transport from the examiners’ official examiner addresses to the marking
During KNEC payments to Examiners one must produce the original copy of ID.
How to get a replacement of KNEC certificates
Before April 2017, it was possible to get your Kenya National Examinations Council certificate replaced. However, beginning April 2017, KNEC announced that it will no longer replace any certificates. Instead of issuing another certificate it will now issue a notification sheet showing when one sat for the exam. The current confirmation of certificate will cost Kenya shillings 2320
To get the above confirmation one will need to write an application and the application can be collected from at KNEC offices. KNEC advises that confirmation will take 10 days
