2020 School opening and closing dates for Term 1, 2 and 3: Term one study for 2020 for pre-primary, primary and secondary schools in Kenya will begin on 6 January, according to the Ministry of Education.
The primary and secondary schools will close on April 10, with a mid-term break scheduled for 17 February to 21 February in 2020
Term Two studies will start on 4 May and end on 7 August, with half-term break slated in for 15 June to 19 June.
Term Three studies will start on 31 August and end on 30 October, with no mid-session break.
The total number of weeks in which primary school pupils will be in school are 38, whereas students in secondary schools will stay in school for 41 weeks.
National exams, KCPE and KCSE, will be administered in November. KCPE dates are November 2 to November 5, whereas KCSE exams will take place between November 6 and November 30.
The Teachers’ Training Colleges’ session dates will also be as follows.
Term One studies for the TTC students begin on 7 January and end on 10 April. Term Two studies start on 4 May and end on 7 August. Term Three studies begin on 1 September and end on 13 November. The total number of weeks college students will be in session are 39 weeks, according to the Ministry of Education.
